Arsenal’s ‘wantaway’ midfield duo Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri have been by their club that they are expected to train in front of fans at the Emirates as it is members’ day and be in the team picture.
Fabregas has, according to The Guardian, returned to training for the first time this pre-season due to his troublesome hamstring, and has been told that he is expected to be in the first team photograph admist speculation of a probable transfer to Barcelona. While Arsenal fear Barca will wait until the transfer window deadline on August 31 before making another move for the Spaniard, the Champions League winners have had two bids rejected by the Gunners as they are way below the £40million asking price.
The Spanish giant’s sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta would not be drawn on the situation today, when asked about the situation he responded :
“We won’t discuss the negotiations about Fabregas. We will have time for that.
“We must be respectful of the club Cesc belongs to. You just have to let things happen without being optimistic or pessimistic.”
This HAS to be the first time that Barcelona have not spoken out about Fabregas and wanting to ‘respect’ Arsenal, does this mean that they are secretly optimistic and confident of landing Arsenal’s skipper in the very near future? I guess time will tell once again, but it is promising that Fabregas is returning to the frame after hopefully (touch wood) he’s over his ongoing hamstring problems.
