Arsene Wenger is hoping to bring in Magala left-back Nacho Monreal before the transfer window closes today, with Spanish newspaper AS believing the Spaniard has traveled to London for a medical.
The Gunners lost Kieran Gibbs for three weeks to an injury last night against Liverpool, and with Andre Santos the only other senior left back, Wenger is keen to bolster his options with a defining few months left in the campaign that could see Arsenal miss out on the top four.
The Daily Mail also have confirmed that Arsenal will land the former Osasuna man in a deal that will cost Arsenal £10m, however he will be cup-tied for the Champions League as he has featured for Malaga.
Monreal has impressed in his 18 months with the La Liga side netting his first goal at the weekend, and he would follow in former Malaga star Santi Cazorla to make to the move to England
The left-back racked up over 120 appearances for Osasuna before moving to Malaga in a £4.5m deal in June 2011, and would provide excellent competition with Gibbs and (finally) throw Santos into a Squillaci-like abyss.
