As exit talks loom for Arsenal’s star midfield duo Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, it has been reported that Arsene has targetted Shakhtar star Jadson to fill some of the void.
Jadson, 27, is reported to have impressed Arsene when Shahktar played Arsenal last season in the Champions League and is a player with great technical ability and typical Brazilian attributes, as well as venomous long range shooting, which has seen his call-up to the Brazilian national team.
It has been reported that he was in talks with Arsenal in London on Thursday, with an expected £10m pound needed to secure his services with some reports even suggesting the deal has already been wrapped-up.
Backing this up are his remarks on his twitter page where he wrote: “If everything goes to plan, I’ll have some news for everyone at the start of next week. Hope it works out.”
Personally, I would much rather have Juan Mata make the switch although reports on him are relatively low as of late. From what I have seen of Jadson he looks good, but not amazing although is more accustomed to the centre-midfield postion in comparison to Mata. Hopefully Wenger will work some magic and also persuade Mata and a world-class defender to come along for the ride as well!
