According to The Mirror Arsenal target Lukas Podolski is keen on a switch to the Emirates following a fall-out with his club’s director of sport Volkner Finke as virtually revealed by Claus Horstman, Cologne’s managing director.
The German striker has been in the spotlight as one of Arsenal’s main targets in the January window as adequate cover for Dutchman and Arsenal captain Robin van Persie.
As well as cover for Van Persie, the German striker is also capable of playing on the left wing being a position he has played many a time at international level for Germany.
Podolski is a proven world-class player and has started his present Bundesliga campaign in style racking up 14 goals and 4 assists in 16 appearances for Cologne.
It is rumoured that Cologne have put a £12.5m price tag on the German international, which is due to his contract expiring in June of 2013.
Personally, I would love to see the German at Arsenal and surely signing him would have some influence on the chances of Van Persie staying at the Emirates. What do you guys think? Feel free to leave a comment below.
