An interesting rumour that has been buzzing around is that one of Arsenal’s star midfielders Jack Wilshere has become a long-term target of Spanish giants Real Madrid according to Marca (regarded as the mouthpiece for Real Madrid).
It is reported Real have made a five-man short-list of Europe’s top young prospects and want them in Real Madrid colurs by 2014 and are willing to pay in the region of £20m-30m for each of them.
The signing of top up-and-comers rather than proven mega-stars is claimed to be a present ploy by the Real Madrid hierarchy in order to cut costs as well as give a chance for the club to better mould players to their style.
Wilshere is not out of contract until 2015 with the young Englishman, 19, also quoted as saying he would pledge his full career to gunners a few weeks ago so hopefully even if this rumour is true, Wilshere will still stay loyal to Arsenal.
The other players marked by Real Madrid are claimed to be Bayern Munich defender Rafinha, Athletic Bilbao winger Iker Muniain, Lille starlet Eden Hazard and Borussia Dortmund wonder-kid Mario Gotze. Quite the list isn’t it!
