The Mexican forward who has pulled out from any international duties while he looks to resolve his club future, will be off Arsenal’s books this summer after struggling to make an impact in North London.
Vela joined La Liga side Real Sociedad last summer on loan in a quest for first team football, and certainly suited Spanish as he managed to make a name for himself after scoring 12 goals in 36 appearances for the club.
Philippe Montanier, the Real Sociedad coach, admitted that the club are keen to have the little Mexican back next season, he told Infosport:
We want to keep Vela
Eighty per cent of our players are Basque. We want to continue to work with our training centre and also make one or two adjustments to the team.
Real Sociedad ended in 11th place in La Liga and club was the perfect place for Vela to gain some more confidence and experience.

- Arsenal reportedly set to sign free agent after impressive trial
- Arsenal have ‘concrete interest’ in signing Bayern Munich II star
It’s a shame he will not have a future at the Emirates as his impressive skill and finishing suggested otherwise, but he failed to live up to the physicality of the English game.
But as a result of his fantastic form in La Liga that saw the Mexican international net a series of impressive goals, his value will have risen from last summer and there should be more suitors for the striker.
