According to The Times, Arsenal are keen to extend the loan-deal of Arsenal legend Thierry Henry to the end of February, which would make him eligible upto the highly anticipated match against arch rivals Tottenham.
The Frenchman is expected to return to the New York Red Bulls after the match against AC Milan in the Champions League next Wednesday after joining the gunners since the first week of January.
But if the reports are to be believed, if Henry’s stay was to be extended it would make him eligible for the subsequent two matches which is an FA Cup clash on the 18th of February and the North London derby against Tottenham the following weekend.
While Henry has no issues with extending his stay, he also pointed out it was upto the New York Red Bulls saying:
They [Red Bulls] have been really good about it, so I can’t take advantage of them.
I am pretty sure every Arsenal fan would like the Arsenal legend to stay, even if it is only for an additional two weeks. Although it may be very much wishful thinking, wouldn’t it just put the icing on the cake if Henry scored the winner against Tottenham! What a send-off that would be!
