Apparently Kalou has flown back to London in order to open talks of a move to Arsenal as talks over a contract extension with Chelsea have stalled reportedly due to complications over wage demands.
It is common knowledge that Wenger is a long-term admirer of the Ivory Coast international and reports suggest that the Frenchman is eyeing a cut-price deal for the forward with his contract set to expire in the summer.
It is claimed that the Arsenal boss is wanting to bolster his attacking options after deserved criticism has been dished out to both Andrey Arshavin and Marouane Chamkh while South Korean Chu-Young Park has failed to make an impact.
While £3m would be money well spent for a player of his calibre, it is also reported that the reason Kalou’s talks with Chelsea have stalled is because they are unwilling to to cough up the £90,000 a week he is demanding. A price that we all know is near the top of Arsenal’s wage structure and could possibly prove to be a major road-block.
What do you guys think? Would Kalou fit the Arsenal mould? Feel free to leave a comment below!
