While not backed by any kind of reliable source or quotation, Goal.com claims that the Arsenal players are beginning to question Arsene’s tactics on the football pitch.
Although the story itself should be taken with a pinch of salt, the subject is certainly an interesting topic, especially considering how critical Arsenal fans have been on Arsene’s tactics so far this term.
Goal.com claims that new signings Podolski and Cazorla in particular are becoming disillusioned with how Arsene is managing the team and while there is no concrete evidence of this, you certainly feel that this outcome is becoming more and more likely, that is of course if it has not already begun.
Obviously with Arsenal’s disgusting loss to Bradford midweek, pressure continues to pile on both manager Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal board.
Looking back on the match, there are a few common trends that have irked Arsenal fans in particular and it is certainly baffling why Arsene has stubbornly continued to use these tactics, particularly after seeing how dreadful the outcome has been in recent games.
First of course is Wenger’s persistence in playing Ramsey on the wing. It is clear does not possess the agility or attacking penetration to warrant the selection. While he drifts infield to help out in the center of the pitch, it in no way makes up for what he lacks out wide, particularly when you have someone like the Ox waiting on the bench, a player who has genuine attacking threat and also has experience playing in a midfield position.

Secondly is the selection of Gervinho ahead of Podolski or Walcott. This was a prime example on Tuesday. While I agree that the German would work much better in a partnership up front, I have no doubt he would have performed much better than Gevinho as the lone striker. The guy is strong and clinical and has a thunderous left-foot. He needs to be in and around the box whenever possible, not plonked out wide with defensive duties.
Lastly is Wenger’s reluctance to depart from the 4-3-3 formation and play a formation closer to the ability and potential of the squad at his disposal. It is clear Arsenal are lacking in true wide players and you almost feel a narrower formation would be more suited to the midfielders and strikers at his disposal. A 4-3-1-2 would be a good example of this with either Walcott or Podolski playing off Giroud up front.
In any case, the general feeling is that something must be changed as you feel that Arsene is simply not getting the best out of his current crop of players with it now potentially getting to the stage where the players are beginning to seriously question the manager’s tactics. Certainly a recipe for disaster in any team. The Frenchman certainly seems to be walking on thin ice.
