Barcelona’s persistent tapping up for our captain Cesc Fabregas continues as Barca midfielder Xavi has once again spoken out of his desire to see his Spanish team-mate return to the Nou Camp this summer.
Earlier this month Xavi angered Arsene Wenger with similar comments, when he said Fabregas was “suffering” because he wanted to join Barcelona.
Arsenal value captain Fabregas at £40million, and Barcelona have not yet met the asking price, but Wenger still wants to retain the midfield maestro for the coming season.
“I hope the saga ends,” Xavi told German newspaper Suddeutschzeitung.
Describing Fabregas as “a piece of the puzzle”, Xavi added: “Cesc is only 24 and his arrival would ensure the current cycle of Barca continues to work.
“I’m 31 and will retire in two, three or four years. I hope he comes.”

I think we all just want this Fabregas saga over and done with, he’s yet to play a pre-season game so will he actually fully recover for the coming season if he indeed does remain at Arsenal? His odds are still at 1/10 to head to the Nou Camp, and with comments emerging from Barcelona’s side almost everyday, its seeming more and more inevitable that Fabregas will be departing this summer.
