Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keeping a close eye on Valencia’s young striker Francisco Alcacer, according to reports in the Mirror.
The 20 year old has become a key figure in the Valencia squad and even grabbed the winning goal at the Nou Camp recently.
The report states that his form has caught the eye of Arsene Wenger and the boss is understood to have sent his scouts to watch the striker in action four times over the last month. The youngster has already been capped by Spain at every youth level from U-16 to U-21 and is being tipped for big things.
Alcacer has played 13 times in La Liga this season and his six league goals are only beaten by Jonas, who has to his name. Julian Draxler and Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata are also high on Wenger’s summer transfer wish list, but Francisco is now firmly perched near the top of his list too after an impressive season in Spain.
He is a two footed striker who is capable of making intelligent runs into pockets of space, is quick and is capable of scoring different types of goals. He is small, rapid and technical and is the typical Spanish player of the 21st Century that loves to play with the ball. He has also proven to be a prolific, composed and lethal finisher at youth team level and in lower divisions.
He is athletically gifted and does great damage with his movement and physical prowess. At 20 years of age, he’s only beginning to scratch the surface of his potential and he still has a lot of room to grow. He has grown used to being a lone striker, a strategy Wenger favours at Arsenal.

His defensive work is impressive for a striker and shows a willingness to do whatever it takes to win, a trait the Gunners will surely appreciate. He shouldn’t be the only target for the Gunners this summer, but as a building block for the future, he presents an excellent place to start.
The youngster looks like he has a bright future ahead of him and at a mere £5.3 million he would be an asset to have at the Emirates.
