Arsenal are reportedly preparing a summer move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, according to reports in the Metro.
The French international has been in decent form for Real this season scoring 18 goals in 34 appearances and has consistently been linked with a move to the Emirates for about five years now.
The report states that Liverpool are eyeing a summer swoop for the 26 year old after being told by his agent that Benzema is open to leaving the Bernabeu at the end of the season. It further states that Arsenal are also ready to renew their interest should the player become available.
The Frenchman has never really found his way into the hearts of the Madrid fans and faced some rough treatment by his own supporters earlier in the season and it’s being reported that he’s finally had enough and will look for a move this summer.
The Gunners have long been linked with the player and reportedly tried to sign him last summer. With the need for a world class striker still apparent, it’s likely that they will make the move should Benzema become available.
The striker has bagged 105 goals in 217 games since joining from Lyon in 2009 and despite not being at his best this year, he’s still managed to score 18 goals in 34 games for Madrid which shows how good a player he can be.

The Frenchman can play as the main forward or in a supporting role on either side of the attack. He can drop back and play behind a main striker, although it isn’t a role he particular enjoys. His goal scoring record is impressive but he offers more than goals.
His intelligent movement and sharp reactions facilitate plenty of opportunities for him and perfectly fits the bill for the Gunners. He will create plenty of space for others, he would also thrive on the service. He might not have a reputation for having the most composed head in front of goal, but he has improved this facet of his game this season.
He himself might also fancy a move and has fast become something of an unpopular figure. He certainly doesn’t get the credit he deserves, as he is often eclipsed by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Bale. He will be an excellent addition and a move to the Emirates will also be perfect for him.
