We have been repeatedly linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal in recent weeks, but it looked as though we had missed out after he was tipped to join Bayern Munich in a £28m deal, as reported by the Express.
A report from the Metro claims we are still hopeful of signing the 28-year-old though, despite strong links to the Bundesliga giants.
The Chilean has been touted as a big money replacement for Manchester United’s new signing Bastian Schweinsteiger, and a move has looked close (via the Metro). We could pip them at the post at the last minute though, with his international teammate Alexis Sanchez potentially a big draw.

Vidal is arguably not what we need at the moment, as he is more of a box-to-box midfielder than a defensive mid. We are already well stocked in that area, with Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, and Santi Cazorla all vying for one spot.
It’s hard to turn down a player of such quality when they become available, but our money could certainly be invested better elsewhere.
