Arsenal are reportedly willing to offer Costa Rican international Joel Campbell to Spanish La Liga side Celta Vigo, in an attempt to get the Galician club to part with their £15 million rated striker Nolito (via The Guardian); a move the Guardian describes as Arsene Wenger shutting his eyes and hoping for the best.
Arsenal are not alone in their interest of the 29-year-old forward, with Barcelona also considering him as a possible transfer target now that he has become a fixture in Vicente del Bosque’s Spanish national team, according to Goal.com.
Nolito is well known to Barcelona trainer Luis Enrique, as he spent two years with Barca B while the 45-year-old was in charge of the Catalan giants second team, and only has good things to say about his former boss.
“Luis Enrique is one of my sporting parents,” he told Sportium (via Goal).
“At Barca B he made me realise I could earn a living in this business. He insisted I lose weight and looked after myself to safeguard my ability.
“His advice was very important for me to take a step forward in my career.”

Doing business during the January transfer window is notoriously difficult, with most clubs looking to add to their ranks rather than see players leave. This for the most part means that in order to do business you either have to pay over the odds or have something the other team wants that you can trade.
Arsene Wenger must think that Celta would consider letting Nolito leave if they were to get more than cash in return, and is therefore willing to offer Campbell in part exchange. Plus, with Campbell already spending a season long loan with Real Betis and half a season with Villarreal at the end of last season, he is no stranger to Spanish football.

Nolito has scored eight goals in 15 appearances for Celta this season (via Whoscored), and would certainly add a bit more firepower, as you can see in the video below:
