Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on promising young Frenchman Dayot Upamecano, and we are close to pinching him from under the nose of Manchester United, according to the Mirror.
The Red Devils were apparently close to securing a deadline day deal for the 16-year-old, but were unable to push through a move. Wenger is now close to finalising a deal worth £1m for his young compatriot, but also has Inter Milan to contend with.
The Valenciennes starlet is thought to be an incredibly promising prospect, and is extremely highly thought of in France. Wenger is hopeful that a deal can be pushed through, as he believes the young centre-back is the perfect player to strengthen the academy.
There are a number of teams interested in Upamecano, but he is thought to favour a move to England and the Premier League.

He is clearly one for the future rather than a player who could have any sort of impact in the coming seasons, but it would still be good to get one over on Manchester United.
