On loan Arsenal star Lukas Podolski insists that he is not about to give up and call it quits, and claims he is not listening to the recent media criticism he has been receiving, as reported on Fifa’s official website.

The World Cup winner is something of an enigma, and has caused a number of headaches since his move to the Emirates.
He was struggling for game time at Arsenal, and clearly just didn’t have what it took to be successful at the club. He isn’t faring much better in Italy, and his loan spell at Inter Milan has been disastrous so far.
The 29-year-old has always been a standout performer for Germany however, and he scored for his national side once again during their 2-2 draw against Australia on Wednesday night.

After the game he spoke out against his critics, rhetorically asking if they expected him to just give up and quit the game.
“Should I just dig myself into the ground and give up playing football?” he asked.
“Things keep getting carried over from the Italian media.”
He is unlikely to have a future at Arsenal, but with a year left on his current deal he will at least be returning temporarily to North London. A return to the Bundesliga seems likely, or possibly one last big money move to one of the smaller leagues.
