Arsenal star Granit Xhaka has claimed that Lucas Torreira “wants to be like Auba and Laca” after his winning goal on Saturday evening (via Arsenal.com).
He’s been the standout player for Arsenal this season with some truly exceptional performances in the centre of midfield.
Lucas Torreira has already proven to be an exceptional signing but he has added another string to his bow of late with two goals in less than a week.
The Uruguayan midfielder scored the only goal in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday and now, one of his teammates has joked about Torreira’s aspirations in the team.
“I think he wants to be like Auba and Laca,” Granit Xhaka joked after the match.
“It’s an important goal for him and a great game for all of the team. As I said before, it wasn’t easy.

“I think it was a difficult game and Huddersfield played the whole game one against one, so it was difficult against them and we knew that before.
“1-0 and three points is the most important thing for us.”
It was a vital win for the Gunners and it was pleasing to watch Lucas Torreira grab the all-important goal. The Uruguayan has been excellent since signing for the club and deserved the headlines.
