Aaron Ramsey was recently asked who the best ever Arsenal star he’s played with was, and he rather controversially named Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, according to his interview on UEFA’s official website.
Fabregas was once an Arsenal icon, our captain, and a real fan favourite. He obviously fell from grace somewhat when he forced a move back to Barcelona, and became downright hated by many Arsenal fans when he made the switch back to the Premier League a few years later by joining Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea.
“Cesc Fàbregas. He plays in the same position as me and to have him to look up to when I first came here,” Ramsey replied, when asked the question.
“He was playing every week, assisting, scoring. He was just a very accomplished midfielder, so probably him.”
Fans will no doubt be less than pleased with the Welshman’s choice, especially considering the plethora of options he could have chosen from. The likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Özil, Thierry Henry, and a host of other top talents have played alongside Ramsey over the years, and Arsenal fans would no doubt insist they are all better than the Spaniard.
Some sections of the fanbase were upset that Wenger didn’t bring Fabregas back to the club when he made the move to Chelsea, but it was seemingly a case of either/or when it came to Mesut Özil. The German is showing some of the best form of his career at the moment, so it seems the manager certainly made the right choice.

Maybe if Ramsey though a little harder before answering he would have given a slightly different answer, what do you think Gooners?
