Arsenal’s midfield enforcer Francis Coquelin has revealed that preparation is key to stopping Chelsea’s dynamic duo Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas, the Frenchman told Arsenal Player.
Coquelin has been a revelation this season but his toughest test undoubtedly comes this Sunday when league leaders Chelsea visit the Emirates Stadium.
Our lack of protection and physicality was evident in the big games last season, but Coquelin’s inclusion has been vital in wins against Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool this term.
Arsenal transfer rumours
The midfield battle between Coquelin and Santi Cazorla against Nemanja Matic and Fabregas will go a long way to deciding the outcome of the encounter.
“I’ll look at the video that the manager prepares,” Coquelin stated when asked about his preparation.

“After, I’ll try to keep the same, it’s been working for the last weeks and I try to adapt well to any situation.
“Hazard and Cesc Fabregas are great players who can do such great things at any time in the day. You need to be focused the whole time and that’s what I’m trying to do for the 90 minutes.”
Coquelin, and indeed the whole squad, will be tested in terms of their concentration with the expectation that Chelsea will come to park the bus and hope to nick the game on the counter-attack.
A draw will suit them and it is’s imperative we get our balance right, especially in the full-back areas.
