Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud has welcomed the potential arrival of another striker, with talk regarding a move for Karim Benzema intensifying in recent weeks, the Express reports.
Giroud was handed a start in our 3-1 victory over Everton in the Barclays Asia Trophy final and is set to head into next season as our first choice striker, despite the loud calls for us to replace him.
According to The Sun, we’re set to launch a £40million move for Benzema – who is already competing with Giroud for a place in France’s starting lineup.
And if those reports turn out to be true, Giroud is ready to fight for his position.

“We are doing well together with a really good [cohesion] and the most important thing for me is that the team is always improving,” Giroud told reporters after the Everton game.

Giroud has yet to reach the 20-goal mark in the Premier League despite entering his fourth campaign in England’s top flight, and it’s those statistics which have driven fans to desire a new forward.
A player of Benzema’s quality would certainly take us up a few levels and give us a better chance of challenging for the Premier League next season.
