Currently on loan at Inter Milan, the German claims he wants to get the most out of his remaining years in football.
He suggested that his career could be over in two years time, and insisted that money was not important to him.
“What motivates me? The pleasure of being in contact with the football. In two years it could all be over and I don’t want to waste a single day. I don’t do this for money,” he said.
The 29-year-old has struggled for game time in Serie A, and has been left out of Milan’s European campaign.
He has attempted to mend some bridges in order to facilitate an Arsenal return next season, but with the attacking options currently at our disposal he is unlikely to find it easy to break back into the team.

It would be a shame to see Podolski’s career come to a premature end, but he may not have a future at Arsenal.
