Alexis Sanchez has been superb this season, and has been recognised for his accomplishments by CIES Football Observatory. The Chilean has been named in a list of the top 15 forwards across the five biggest European leagues, with the former Barcelona star in great company.
The list takes into account a player’s rigour, recovery, distribution, take ons, chance creation, and shooting, to give a total score out of 100.
Sanchez has been given a total score of 58, leaving him 12th in the table. He is behind the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Sergio Aguero, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Barcelona trio Neymar, Luis Suarez, and Lionel Messi.
His goals were huge for us in the early stages of the season, with the rest of the team underperforming somewhat. At times he singlehandedly dragged us over the line, and his work-rate and energy levels proved truly infectious.
