Mesust Özil has made it into the WhoScored Team of the Week, despite being part of the team that played so poorly against Manchester United this past weekend.
The playmaker certainly wasn’t among the worst performers on the day, and his goal and assist certainly helped him make the team of the week. It’s questionable whether he really deserves to be in the side though, and as much as we love the German genius, he just wasn’t at his best against United.
Regardless of our opinion though, it’s great to see an Arsenal man feature in the team, and you can see the rest of the inclusions below:
We’re certainly not complaining that Özil is included, but we are questioning it a little. Obviously the way WhoScored’s system works is more than just opinion, and the player ratings are compiled based on goals, assists, passes, etc. So if you have a terrible game in many ways but somehow manage 4 assists, chances are you’re going to make the team.

After the display we put in against Louis van Gaal’s side it’s hard to imagine any of our players making anybody’s team of the week, but if someone is going to be included then of course it was going to be Mesut Özil.
