Nacho Monreal claims solidarity is the reason for our success so far this season, and continuing to work as a unit will see us compete for the Premier League come the end of the campaign.
The Spaniard believes we are a totally different team to the one that crumbled and fell away over the last two seasons, and claims we are more than capable of pushing onwards with the quality we have in the team.
“I think the team is different [this season]. We have different players, and are more competitive,” he said, as quoted by Arsenal.com.
“I think the level of the team is better now and I hope we can do something special this season. At the moment, everything is right so we need to carry on.
“The secret? I will say that we are playing more compact, like a unit.
“The players are playing with more solidarity, all players try to defend. I think this is the [reason for] that.

“We have won the Community Shield, we are second in the Premier League with the same points as Manchester City.”
Monreal hasn’t always been a fan favourite at Arsenal, but his professionalism and willingness to keep pushing for a starting spot has endeared us all to him. He looked a bit of a liability when he first arrived, but his improvement has been massive and he’s now one of the most reliable players in the team.
He is a large part of our solidity at the back, and really has become a key part of our setup. With Hector Bellerin on the other side of our defence we have an excellent lopsided balance (I know that sounds like a ridiculous oxymoron), and we look a far better side with the Spanish duo in the team.

This really does look like our best chance in years to lift the Premier League trophy, so hopefully Monreal is right when he says that we’re a different team capable of achieving far greater things than we have done in recent seasons.
