Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has taken to Twitter in order to send some words of encouragement to Danny Welbeck who has recently undergone surgery in order to treat his ongoing knee injury.
Welbeck, who has been nursing the problem since April, will now be out for a ‘period of months’ according to the club which is a huge blow for the 24-year-old (via Arsenal.com).
With a major international tournament coming up once the season ends, Welbeck may well be in a race against time in order to prove his fitness ahead of France 2016.
Also, his injury leaves us desperately short up front after Arsene Wenger decided against signing a striker in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal transfer news
Olivier Giroud now remains our only recognised striker with Wenger’s experiment of playing Walcott through the middle currently not working.

Walcott, although he has blistering pace, lacks the presence and the hold-up play needed to play as a loan striker. He would most certainly be more dangerous on the right, but Wenger seems reluctant to name Walcott and Giroud in the same starting XI.
