The internet is currently abuzz with the news that Raheem Sterling’s agent Aidy Ward has branded Jamie Carragher “a knob”, and insists that his client won’t be staying at Liverpool even for “£900k per week”, as reported by the Evening Standard.
The same report unfortunately suggests that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to sign on as a client for Ward, so we will be hoping to avoid a fiasco like the Sterling saga happening in our camp.
It is the opinion of many that Sterling has been badly advised by Ward, with the Standard quoting Mark Lawrenson as saying that the youngster “has been so badly advised”.
“There were stories three months ago that he could play for Real Madrid, that he could play for Barcelona…. Absolute tosh, he’s a million miles away from that.”
Sterling has clearly had his head turned, and is hoping to make the step up to a bigger club this summer. The Standard believe it is unlikely the Emirates will be his final destination, with Ward allegedly claiming he is most likely to sign for Chelsea or Manchester City.

Despite the agents claims that even “£900k per week” would not be enough to keep him at Anfield, a move to Chelsea or Man City suggest that money is the key factor in his decision. This is not the kind of attitude we want at Arsenal, so hopefully the Ox steers well clear of Ward’s poisonous tongue.
