Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has been shortlisted for the PFA Fans’ Player of the Year award organised in association with 90MiN, after a stellar first season in English football for us, Arsenal.com reports.
The award is decided completely by fans across the country and after initially making the provisional list alongside Mesut Ozil (via Sky Sports), the Chilean has made the final five-man shortlist.
Alexis is up against David de Gea, Sergio Aguero, Philippe Coutinho, and Eden Hazard for the award, and it will certainly come down to which fanbase from each represented club has a stronger voice.
Arsenal transfer rumours
It is a slight coincidence that one player from each of the so-called top five clubs has been shortlisted for an award decided solely by fans.
Alexis has been a breath of fresh air for both our squad, and the Premier League in general, with his infectious work rate and genuine enthusiasm for the game gaining him adulation from across Europe.

- Arsenal’s top Hector Bellerin replacement is now available for £30m
Operating mostly from the left-wing, the sheer outlay of Alexis’s goals and assists means that he would deserve any individual award handed to him at the end of the campaign.
With the club set to entertain votes for our own player of the season poll over the next few weeks, the former Barcelona man could win by an absolute landslide.
