Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin has joined Championship side Watford on loan until January 2014 as he looks for first team experience the clubs official website have confirmed.
The highly rated Spanish youth international has come on in leaps and bounds since his move from Barcelona in 2011, making his first team debut in the Capital One Cup tie against West Bromwich Albion this season, coming on as a substitute in extra-time.
That evening he played as a midfielder but primarily operates as a right back. He has been a regular in the Gunners U21 side and was notably a member of the Spanish youth side that reached the semi-finals of the UEFA European Under-19 Championships in the summer.
The 18-year-old defender will learn plenty under the tutorship of Gianfranco Zola, and hope to gain some valuable playing time in England’s second tier over the next couple of months.
He will join fellow Gunner and Spaniard Ignasi Miquel in the Championship who is with Leicester City for the season. Best of luck to Hector.
