Arsenal duo Theo Walcott and Calum Chambers took to their respective social media accounts in order to congratulate Wayne Rooney who became England highest ever goalscorer against Switzerland on Tuesday.
Walcott was on the bench when Rooney made history while Chambers was away with the U-21 squad during this international break.
Netting a penalty into the top corner, Rooney etched his name into England folklore and no matter how many choose to analyse his career, nobody can degrade the magnitude of this achievement.
His performances at major international tournaments mean that his international career may not be given its rightful dues once he hangs up his boots and that debate will certainly go on.
Arsenal news & rumours
However, Rooney now leads England into another major tournament which represents another chance for him to finally deliver when it matters.

With such a youthful side around him, Rooney is by far the most experienced player in the group and the European Championships in France will represent his sixth major tournament with England and his third Euros.
