Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has praised our overseas fans as the squad prepares to travel to Singapore for the Barclays Asia Trophy, the Frenchman told Arsenal Player.
The majority of the first team squad will be back in full training this week as the coaching staff put them through their paces with our first fixture only days away.
Giroud spoke of the welcome surprise when the team travels around the globe and witness the kind of support they’re used to at the Emirates Stadium.

“It’s always a pleasure and a really good experience because you can see the fans are crazy all over the world,” Giroud was quoted as saying.
“I remember when we landed in Vietnam very early in the morning but there were 2,000 people who were waiting for us and cheering us on.”

With Arsene Wenger easily swayed by the quality of the squad, a solid pre-season from Giroud may convince the boss that we have enough in our forward line to mount a serious challenge.
Despite Giroud’s impressive displays over the past few months, he’s yet to reach the 20 goal mark in the Premier League in three seasons which indicates that he lacks the ruthlessness to take us to the title.
Pre-season is a time for preparation, and Wenger must stick to his original plan and add quality to the squad when the opportunities arise.
