The 22-year-old has struggled with injury since joining the club, and has been unavailable for selection for long periods. He would be unlikely to see regular first team football even if he could remain fit however, as we have far better options ahead of him in the pecking order.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Crystal Palace, but despite a bright start he failed to nail down a starting spot. Hopefully he will fare better back in France, as he would certainly benefit from more playing time.
The youngster is already beginning to look like a failed experiment, but hopefully he can prove us wrong with a successful loan spell.
The Star’s report suggests he has already agreed personal terms, so it seems it’s now just down to Arsene Wenger to sign off on the switch.
