There have been some worrying transfer rumours regarding Alexis Sanchez and a move to Real Madrid recently, but the Chilean has reassured us all by insisting he’s happy at Arsenal and has no intention of leaving, as reported by Goal.
The former Barcelona star has been in phenomenal form since his Emirates switch back in the summer of 2014, and enjoyed one of the best debut seasons you’re ever likely to see. He finished the campaign as our top scorer with 25 goals, and after a stuttering start to the new season he looks keen on bettering that tally.
His fine form means it’s understandable that managers of some of the world’s top teams would be interested in luring him away, with new Real boss Rafa Benitez seemingly among them. The 26-year-old has rubbished the rumours though, and committed his future to Arsenal.
“I have no idea what the media are saying, but I feel comfortable at Arsenal,” he said.
“I’m happy with my team-mates and the city of London is beautiful. I’m not going to change, I’m very happy.
“I always want to be the best at everything I do. I’m never happy with what I do, I always want to give more.

“My mum is always my coach. She phones me and tells me to shoot at goal more often.”
It’s great that he’s so happy at Arsenal, and losing him at this point is unthinkable. He’s proved to be arguably Arsene Wenger’s best signing in years, and is of the calibre we need to help us win the big trophies that have been eluding us.
Having struggled for goals at the start of the season, Alexis now has his sights well and truly locked on goal. He has scored six in his last three for Arsenal, as well as three for Chile while on international duty. That’s nine goals in his last five games, and no signs of slowing down.
There were some concerns following our 3-0 win over Manchester United, as Alexis limped off near the end of the game with what looked to be a groin injury. Arsenal fans were hoping he’d get a rest during the international break, but knowing the desire he has to play and how important he is to his national side, that was never really going to happen.
Arsenal transfer news
As the report reveals, he has unfortunately admitted to feeling “a bit tired” following his international exploits, but hopefully he’s fully fit and well rested for our clash with Watford this weekend. Hands off Rafa!
