Zlatan Ibrahimovic has apparently demanded £600,000 per week wages to make a switch to the Premier League, which will effectively put him out of absolutely everybody’s price range, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The Swede has been heavily linked with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and even West Ham, with his contract at PSG coming to an end at the close of the season.
Even with the funds available to United and Chelsea however, it’s hard to see anybody – other than one of these Chinese teams – actually being able to afford him.
At 34-years-old he doesn’t exactly offer much longevity, and it’s unlikely he’ll be playing at the highest level for more than a season or two. We know he’s a little delusional, but surely even he can’t seriously think he’s worth £600,000 a week?
It’s always possible this whole thing could be some sort of April Fools joke, but knowing Ibrahimovic it’s certainly possible he’s being 100% serious.
The former Barcelona star would unquestionably be a phenomenal signing on paper, and could potentially even prove the difference between us winning and losing the title. His temperament and ridiculous wage demands would make it a huge gamble though, a gamble it’s difficult to see Arsene Wenger taking.

We do need a top quality striker to take us to the next level, but we can’t be held to ransom by players with an over inflated sense of self worth. Ibrahimovic may be one of the best strikers in the game, but it’s questionable whether any player is worth that much per week, especially a 34-year-old.
