Arsenal are reportedly ready to make a move for Barcelona’s wonder-kid Munir El Haddadi on loan for the rest of the season, according to reports in the Daily Star.
The 19 year old has impressed since breaking into the Nou Camp side’s first team set-up during the club’s pre-season but the arrival of Luis Suarez has left the teenager warming the bench and a move out on loan in January appears to be likely.
The report states that the Gunners are at the front of the queue as boss Arsene Wenger is desperate to strengthen his offensive options. Wenger was eager to land the Spanish international on a permanent deal but Barcelona officials were reluctant to let the talented youngster leave and raised his release clause.
The Spanish giants however are willing to ship out the teenager on loan to boost his development, with regular action in the Premier League likely to be appealing. Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain have also been linked with a move, but Wenger could be more willing to sign the youngster on a loan deal than Jose Mourinho or Laurent Blanc.
The Gunners have a history of securing youngsters from the Nou Camp with the most obvious success story being that of Cesc Fabregas, as he developed into one of the best midfielders in the world under Arsene Wenger’s guidance, before the Catalans bought the Spaniard back in 2011. Hector Bellerin and Jon Toral are the most recent to have made the same journey.
He has the ability to play as a striker or out on the left flank and he possesses great versatility in attack and is strong with both feet. He has great ability in the air too, also helps out in the defence and is deadly quick over a short distance. He is billed to have a great future, although he could hardly be expected to make any sort of impact on the Gunners season, but maybe Wenger will use the loan deal to convince the youngster that joining the North London club is the right thing to do for him.
