Arsenal have reportedly opened talks with Napoli over the possible signing of star striker Gonzalo Higuain.
According to the Metro, the Argentinian wants to quit the club just two years after his chose the Serie A side instead of us in a €40m move from Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Since then the 27-year-old has been in ruthless form for Rafael Benitez’s men. He has thirteen league goals this campaign, helping Napoli sit fourth in the table. However, they are some way behind leaders Juventus, who are 20 points ahead.
The Metro suggest that upon hearing about his unhappiness in Italy, Arsene Wenger has decided renew his interest in the forward in the summer, and could bid £28.9m for the player.

The move would certainly be a positive one as we look to bolster our attacking options for next season. Our eight-match winning run looks to be in vain after a slow start cost us realistic title ambitions, and let Chelsea and Manchester City get away. And while City have been caught and overtaken, the Blues are still favourites for the line, leaving many of us questioning what could have happened had Olivier Giroud not been injured for much of the early season, or if we had a striker of his calibre – which Higuain seems to be – to replace him.
