Arsenal’s link with Toulouse star strengthens as the young Frenchman poses in a Gunners’ shirt on holiday.Arsenal have long been linked with the signing of Toulouse FC right back Serge Aurier, and that could now be close to coming to fruition after the young Frenchman posed in a Gunners shirt on holiday.
The 20 year-old defender was regularly linked with a switch to the north London side as a direct replacement for Bacary Sagna in January, with the veteran France international having just a year remaining on his contract.
Arsene Wenger has been strongly linked with interest in young Toulouse FC right back Serge Aurier, who chose to post an image of himself wearing an Arsenal shirt whilst on his summer holidays on his Twitter page, which can be accessed at @Serge Aurier.
With Bacary Sagna still not being tied down to a new deal, with one year left on the 30 year old’s current contract, there is perhaps scope for the signing of another right-back, even with Carl Jenkinson primed and ready to fill the first team spot.
Serge Aurier started his career at Lens, the French club now relegated to the second division, signed the player in 2006 at the age of 13 and he made his debut for the club in 2009 against Lorient in a Coupe de France match.

The Ivorian full back received a lot of appreciation from fans for his good performances at the club over the next two years and was a standout performer for Lens even after the club was relegated to the second division. Serge was picked up by Toulouse FC in 2012 and he quickly cemented his spot at his new club starting in 27 matches for them in the current season.
The full back is a versatile player and can play on both sides of the field, also capable of playing in a central defensive position, making the Ivorian a very talented utility player. The defender though is found guilty of charging too high up the pitch at times and has been caught out of position on occasions, but his confidence and work rate remains unquestioned by any manager that he has worked under.
Still only 20 years old, the full back has a good chance to hone his skills further under Arsene Wenger.Arsene Wenger is eyeing this gem as a potential replacement for the outgoing Bacary Sagna and the Ivorian could be great long term prospect for the Gunners.
Should we sign him?
