Arsenal trio Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla have been shortlisted for the PFA Fans’ Player of the Season award recognising their sensational performances this season.

Cazorla and Alexis’s nominations shouldn’t come as a surprise, but many will be stunned to see Ozil’s inclusion due to his lengthy injury lay-off earlier on this season.
Despite the criticisms he receives externally, observant Arsenal fans have noticed a shift in Ozil’s game over the past few months as he accepts more responsibility.

Returning bulkier than usual in his cameo appearance against Stoke City in January, Ozil has continued a steady rise which has coinciding with his return to his favoured role.
