Arsenal will face Bayern Munich yet again in the Champions League in February after the two clubs were paired together in Monday’s draw.
The clubs know each other well having faced each other frequently in the past few seasons with Bayern edging the head-to-head record.
In 10 Champions League ties between the two teams, Arsenal have won three, drawn two and lost five although they will remember they did beat the German champions at the Emirates last season.
Here’s a look at the full head-to-head record.

Domestically Carlo Ancelotti’s side are again top of the table, although they are not running away with the league this year and are indeed only level on points with RB Leipzig who have been the surprise package of the Bundesliga season. In the Champions League it was a something of a surprise to see them finish runners-up to Atletico Madrid in an otherwise straightforward group that contained FC Rostov and PSV. Bayern were actually beaten 3-2 in Rostov as well as losing 1-0 to Atleti at the Calderon and the feeling is that Ancelotti has not quite got them playing at their very best yet.
PLAYER TO WATCH
Bayern possess a formidable squad but perhaps the man Arsenal need to fear most is Robert Lewandowski. The striker has 11 goals and two assists in the Bundesliga, that’s a goal every 109 minutes. He has also scored five times in the Champions League this season and was on target against Arsenal in the 5-1 win in 2015.
Carlo Ancelotti is one of the most successful managers in Champions League history. He is the only man to win the title three times with Milan in (2003 and 2007) and Madrid in 2014 and will be aiming to for his fifth final.
The Italian has faced Arsene Wenger six times as a manager winning three of those games but lost to the Gunners boss in their only previous Champions League encounter, a round of 16 clash in 2007-08 when Arsenal knocked out Milan.
WHEN ARE THE GAMES?
The first leg will be played at Allianz Arena on 15 February 2017 with the return leg at the Emirates scheduled for the 7th March 2017.
