Cabaye was left out of the Magpies squad to face Manchester City on Monday night after it emerged that the Gunners had tabled a bid in the region of about £10 million to lure the France international to Emirates Stadium but the bid was immediately rejected and described the bid as ‘derisory’ and the Magpies boss accused the Gunners of disrespect by making an offer so soon to their game with Manchester City.
Alan Pardew has confirmed that his club have so far only received one bid for the midfielder from Arsenal and the Gunners are yet to return with an improved bid but insisted that the future of Cabaye remains uncertain.
According to Independent, he said :
I think the situation with Yohan is an ongoing situation and we will take each day as it comes.
There’s been one bid and I’ve turned that down, and that’s really all I’m going to say on that.
We’re the sort of club that is not in the bracket where we can dictate a transfer.

We sometimes have to respond, because we are not in the position where we have got the luxuries of Tottenham or Liverpool.
For us, we’re poised waiting to see what happens, and we want to make sure we bring in one or two players that affect our first team.
The Gunners are having a torrid time in the summer transfer window so far as Wenger has failed to bring in any reinforcements this summer and has started to feel the pressure from the fans, who chanted for him to spend after Arsenal went down 3-1 in their season opener against Aston Villa last Saturday.
Cabaye is an attacking midfielder. He has an eye for pass and is capable of unlocking most Premier League’s defences with his incisive through-balls. He is not the kind of marquee name Gunners supporters were expecting to see arrive this summer. However, he is a solid Premier League performer and would immediately add an experienced option to the Arsenal midfield.
Arsenal are a bit weak in the midfield at the moment due to the absence of Arteta, so Cabaye can replace him in the defensive midfielder position as he has already played in that position for both Newcastle and national team on few occasions. From deep positions, he is able to dictate the tempo of a game with his emaculate passing and perceptive ability to find space at all times.
Arsenal should go back for him with an improved offer but £20 million seems too high. So i think a £15 million bid would be enough to thrash out a deal and the player too seems to be intent on leaving because i don’t think a bid will force the manager to keep the player on the sidelines unless the player wants the move too.
What do you say Gooners?
