Arsenal youngster Chris Willock has left the Emirates and joined Benfica on a five-year deal the club have confirmed.
The teenager’s current deal was due to expire tomorrow and he has now opted to join the Portuguese side.
“I hope I can show what I can do on the field,” he told Benfica’s official website. “I think we have a great team and we can achieve great things in the future.”

Part of the academy side, Willock trained regularly with the first team and was even named on the bench for the FA Cup win at Hull City last season.
However, he is fairly far down the pecking order and the chances of his breaking into the first team looked fairly bleak.

The teenager has therefore decided his future lies away from the club and moves to Benfica, hoping for the chance of more regular football.
All the best for the future Chris!
