Arsenal forward Chuba Akpom has completed his season-long loan move to Hull City, as the 19-year-old looks to gain valuable first-team experience in the Championship, the Tigers have confirmed.

Akpom was heavily involved in our pre-season plans ahead of the new campaign and netted a hat-trick against Singapore Select XI last month. The forward looked like he’d remain a first team player with us, but will now spend the season away from the Emirates.
Hull City boss – and former Manchester United man – Steve Bruce, previously made a habit of taking our players on loan, with the likes of Nicklas Bendtner and Seb Larsson joining him at Birmingham City a few years ago.
Surprisingly, Arsene Wenger was adamant following the opening Barclays Asia Trophy fixture that Akpom will not be sent out on loan after he spent the final few months of last term at Nottingham Forrest.
“This pre-season, during the season I plan to keep him with us,” Wenger told reporters following our 4-0 in Singapore (via Arsenal Player).

Arsenal transfer news
Just what has changed over the past three weeks isn’t quite clear, and Wenger’s explanation regarding this deal will certainly be interesting.
Given that the boss intended to include Akpom in his plans this season, rumours will certainly intensify regarding a potential arrival to complete our forward line.
