Arsenal’s academy director Andries Jonker as revealed that the presence of Arsene Wenger allows us to attract the best talents from around the world, he told Arsenal Player.
Jonker, who was Louis van Gaal’s assistant at Bayern Munich, arrived in 2014 to succeed Liam Brady as the man responsible for our academy.
Since then, the Dutchman has overseen many changes to both players and staff, with a number of his compatriots recruited as head coaches for our development squads.
This previous summer may have been the biggest transformation we’ve seen in our academy with a number of players signed from across Europe. For Jonker, that wouldn’t be possible without the undeniable presence of Wenger.
