Arsenal’s move for Karim Benzema seems to have gathered pace following the Frenchman’s cryptic Instagram post, in which he stated: ‘Let us leave the past in the past’.
Benzema was also on a private jet in the photo he uploaded which, if it was taken today, is rather odd considering that the Real Madrid squad are travelling to Shanghai on the next leg of their tour of China.
Real Madrid played a friendly on Monday against Inter Milan with Benzema an unused substitute, which again is rather unusual in a pre-season friendly.

5) Olivier Giroud
While he remains our first choice striker at the moment, Benzema’s potential arrival may harm Giroud’s chances the most for one simple reason – their nationality.
Ahead of the European Championships in France, Benzema and Giroud have been in competition for the central striker role over the past few years.
While the Real Madrid star remains No.1, Giroud may feel that he may have to move club’s if he’s to usurp the 27-year-old over the next few months.
