The draw for this season’s Europa League group stage took place this afternoon and Arsenal’s opponents have been revealed.
It’s an unusual situation for many Arsenal fans. Usually, the Gunners would have tuned into yesterday’s UEFA Champions League draw.
This year is a little different after the club’s fourth-placed finish last season which has meant that Europa League is the way to go this year.
Arsenal were placed in the top seeded group and were the eighth team out of the pot giving them the top place in Group H.
Belarusian champions Bate Borisov were the second team drawn in Group H, German side FC Köln were next, and the group was completed by Serbian side Red Star Belgrade

It’s a decent draw and while the Gunners would prefer to be in the Champions League draw, few fans would turn down a lengthy European run in this competition.
