Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is aware of the importance in the role played by the fans and has let the Emirates faithful know that their noise can carry the team over the line during difficult moments, he told Arsenal Player.
Koscielny has been one of the most consistent defenders in Europe over the past few years and is finally getting the recognition he deserves after being heralded as one of the best centre-backs in the league by Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports.

This week however, the Frenchman took the time out to express his gratitude to the supporters and also revealed how our players respond to encouragement from the crowd during the difficult periods in a game.
“When you have fans who sing in the 20 minutes that you know you are in difficult situations, it’s good to hear and it helps you to give more,” said the man lovingly referred to as ‘Bossielny’ by the Arsenal fans.
“It helps you do the defensive things to help your team-mates. It’s important – the fans are a big part [of success] for us and the final result.”

Koscielny has become a leader in this team over the past few years and his absence is usually felt, especially by Per Mertesacker who he’s formed a wonderful partnership with.
With the captaincy potentially becoming available once again this summer, Mertesacker will be next in line as vice captain. However, Koscielny would be a worthy alternate candidate.
