Arsene Wenger hailed our performance against Everton in the Barclays Asia Trophy final after we ran out 3-1 winners to round off our Singapore tour in ideal fashion, the boss told Arsenal Player.
Santi Cazorla, Theo Walcott, and Mesut Ozil found the net for us in what was a surprisingly dominant display with the majority of the first XI playing their first pre-season game.
The boss was especially pleased about the quality of our technical game as a number of our midfielders made Everton chase shadows for large portions of the encounter.

“What you want to do in preparation is to find the quality of your team play back as quickly as possible, and I think that tonight for long periods we played with real quality,” Wenger said.
“It’s very satisfying and it looks like everybody shares the way we see the game. We created many chances and the individual performances over the last two games were all good.”

The performance of Cazorla in particular stood out the most, with the playmaker receiving the Player of the Tournament award despite only featuring in the second game.
With a sensational goal and two clever assists, the Spaniard looks set to continue the form he showed in the second half of last season which could spell danger for the likes of Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey.
