Arsenal’s reported alternative target to Karim Benzema, whose identity was unknown, has been revealed as Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, according to El Confidencial’s Kike Marin.

Kike suggested that Arsene Wenger is ‘slowly but surely’ making efforts to land Benzema but has identified Lewandowski as an alternative target should we fail to land the Frenchman.
It seems as though the boss has identified the centre forward position as one where we could add a player of real quality and Kike is regarded as a reliable journalist when it comes to Arsenal.
Just how we’ll be able to pull off either deal remains to be seen with both strikers currently first choice options at two of the biggest clubs in the world.

We can’t help but fear that the shortage of top class strikers around Europe will leave us short once again after a number of years of negligence from our hierarchy.
Where are Bayern Munich or Real Madrid going to find adequate replacements from at this stage of the window?
If anyone can pull these moves off, it’s Wenger, but this may be one step too far.
