The 22-year-old was brought to Arsenal back in 2011, but work permit issues meant he was unable to turn out for us – instead being sent out repeatedly on loan.
He has finally been granted a work permit however, and is eligible to play for the club next season.
The Brazilian is entering the final year of his current deal, but is apparently already discussing an extension.
“My agent told me recently that we’re dealing with my renewal. I only have a year with Arsenal,” he said.

“But I am now at Almeria and my thoughts are here. We have to achieve our goal of staying up.”
Silva is chomping at the bit to get his Arsenal career off the ground, and may finally get his chance.
There is a host of top class competition ahead of him, but he is a talented young player who could thrive with proper guidance.
He reminds me at times of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with his pace, power, and trickery.
It was beginning to look like he would never get his chance at Arsenal, but that could all change come the end of the season.
