Arsenal’s much-heralded summer signing Petr Cech took to his Twitter page following Sunday’s shock defeat to West Ham and issued a rallying cry after his two errors contributed to our defeat.
Entering the game as our only summer signing, the pressure on Cech to perform was monumental and the 33-year-old was essentially responsible for both of West Ham’s goals.
For the first, while the organisation from our defenders was poor, Cech came an awfully long way as he attempted to claim the ball and was beaten to it by Cheikhou Kouyaté.
As for their second goal, just how a strike with such little pace flashed past Cech had the stadium in disbelief – it was a nightmare debut for the former Chelsea man.

In fairness to Cech, however, he was the only player to make a public statement immediately after the game and while he admitted to his mistakes, the focus was now very much on the second game for him.
First game like this was not in the script – Mistake and no points but tomorrow is another day to get ready for the next game ! #COYG

That game is another London derby as we head to a Crystal Palace side who looked in excellent condition and form against Norwich on the opening day.
Another defeat is almost unthinkable.
