The Spanish magician was one of the favourites to reclaim the award he won following his first season in 2013 with some sensational displays this campaign.
Cazorla’s season really took off this calendar year following a shift in position with Arsene Wenger deploying him in a deeper midfield role.
A completely revolutionised player was the outcome of the tactical switch and Cazorla produced arguably the most complete performance of the season at the Etihad Stadium in January.

The fact that he came in third place throws up an interesting conundrum as to who will occupy second place – assuming that Alexis Sanchez will be named our player of the season.
Francis Coquelin and Laurent Koscielny are possibly the most realistic candidates to claim the accolade after producing consistent displays and stabilising our defence.
Very few players have such a significant impact on our results as the two Frenchman do and both would be deserving of such a mention.
Cazorla’s moment of the season is beyond any doubt. Check it out below.
